# Concrete Volume for Pouring Pads Calculate the amount of concrete needed for pouring concrete pads.

Depth in

Forming Material
in Lineal Feet
lin/ft

Cubic Feet ft³
Cubic Yards yd³
Cubic Metres

#### Calculation

1. number of pads needed (preset at 1)
2. length of pad in feet and inches
3. width of pad in feet and inches

#### Results

1. forming material needed, in lineal feet, for pad(s)
2. amount of concrete needed in cubic feet
3. concrete needed in cubic yards
4. concrete needed in cubic metres

### Formula

`length * width * depth * number = volume`
##### Example Calculation
```number of pads = 12
pad length = 2' - 6"
pad width =  2' - 6"
depth = 10"
```
##### Convert the measurements to the same unit for easier calculations. Convert the inches to feet;
`2 feet + (6 ÷ 12) =  2.5 `
`2 feet and 6 inches in a decimal foot amount equals 2.5 feet`
`10 ÷ 12 = 0.833`
`10 inches in a decimal foot amount equals 0.833 feet`
##### Using the above formula:
`2.5 * 2.5 *  0.833 * 12 = 62.475`
`You will need 62.475 cubic feet of concrete to pour these 12 pads.`
```To convert cubic feet to cubic yards multiply cubic feet * 0.037037037037037
To convert cubic feet to cubic metres multiply cubic feet * 0.028316846592
To convert cubic yards to cubic metres multiply cubic yards * 0.764554857984```
### When Ordering Concrete
This concrete calculator will help you in estimating the amount of concrete needed for your project. The amount given as needed, does not include any waste. It is recommended, depending on the job you are doing, to add anywhere from an extra 4% to 10% to your concrete order to make sure you have enough concrete to finish the job. Ask when ordering the concrete. They will be able to give you a good idea of what is needed.
