### Divide Fraction Number One by Fraction Number Two

1⁄2 * 3⁄4 numerator * numerator 1 * 3 = 3 denominator * denominator 2 * 4 = 8 and the result of this multiplication is 1⁄2 * 3⁄4 = 3⁄8

There are two ways you can approach this. Option one is the way you are suppose to do it.

`1⁄2 ÷ 3⁄4`

This involves 2 steps.
Step 1: change the division to a multiplication
`1⁄2 * 3⁄4`

Step 2: flip the numerator with the denominator of the second fraction.
1⁄2 * 4⁄3 numerator * numerator 1 * 4 = 4 denominator * denominator 2 * 3 = 6 and the result of this calculation is 1⁄2 ÷ 3⁄4 = 1⁄2 * 4⁄3 = 4⁄6 = 2⁄3

The easiest way to do this is is by adding the number values to the fraction 2 1⁄2 ÷ 4 3⁄8 then becomes 5⁄2 ÷ 35⁄8 change it into a multiplication and flip the second fraction 5⁄2 * 8⁄35 = numerator * numerator 5 * 8= 40 denominator * denominator 2 * 35 = 70 5⁄2 * 8⁄35 = 40⁄70 which becomes 4⁄7

1⁄2 ÷ 3⁄4 change the division symbol to a multiplication symbol 1⁄2 * 3⁄4 now instead of doing a straight multiplication of numerator * numerator and denominator * denominator do a cross multiplication: numerator fraction 1 * denominator fraction 2 = 1 * 4 the numerator of the result = 4 denominator fraction 1 * numerator fraction 2 = 2 * 3 the denominator of the result = 6 Result =^{4}/_{6}simplified to^{2}/_{3}
