Calculating Fuel Economy - Cost of Charging the Battery of an Electric Vehicle (EV)

Spike VM

To use this calculator, you will need to know the cost of one kilowatt-hour (kWh) of energy and your EV's battery's capacity in kWh.

A kilowatt-hour (kWh) is the amount of electricity used in an hour - your electrical bill based on kWh usage.

Note: The cost of one kWh of energy can (will) vary. When your area's overall electrical consumption is high (at specific periods), you will be billed at a higher rate.

Example
The Battery Capacity is 40 kWh
One kWh of electricity will cost $0.227
40 * 0.227 = 9.08
It will cost approximately $9.08 to charge this battery.
