# Calculating Fuel Economy - Trip Cost of Driving an Electric Vehicle

The fuel efficiency of an electric vehicle is given in kilowatt-hours (kWh) per 100 miles.

To use this calculator, you need to know the average kWh per 100 miles (kWh/100 mi) of your vehicle and the cost of electricity in kilowatts per hour (kWh).

`To travel 1 mile the vehicle uses 33 ÷ 100 = 0.33kWh`
`0.33 * 66 = 21.78`
`To travel 66 miles will take 21.78 kWh of electricity.`
`21.78 * 0.226 = 4.922`
`For this vehicle to travel 66 miles will cost \$4.92`
